The 2026 Shenzhen International Auto Tuning Expo has concluded. Centering on performance and appearance upgrade segments for German luxury vehicles, more than ten domestic independent carbon fiber tuning brands secured over 3,200 sets of intended orders for vehicle-specific kits of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Porsche on-site. Premium domestic tuning parts are gradually breaking the monopoly of overseas brands.
On-site exhibition statistics show that four product categories topped visitor inquiries: widebody kits for Mercedes-Benz G-Class, dry carbon hoods for BMW M series, rear wings for Porsche 992, and air intake splitters for Audi RS series. Products made via dry carbon compression molding technology accounted for over 75% of total transactions.
Leading exhibitors stated that high-end carbon fiber body kits and lightweight interior parts used to rely heavily on imports from Germany and Japan, with premiums exceeding 60% per set. After five years of technological upgrades, domestic manufacturers have mastered prepreg dry carbon and integral molding techniques. Compared with wet carbon counterparts, these accessories weigh 35% less and deliver fitment quality comparable to top overseas OEM tuning brands, yet priced at only 55% of imported kits.
For new energy vehicles, multiple enterprises debuted exclusive lightweight chassis skid plates and low-drag carbon fiber mirror housings for BMW iX and all-electric Porsche Macan. These products cater to EV demands including battery protection and range improvement, drawing dealership signing intentions from dozens of tuning shops nationwide.
Industry analysts noted that domestic tuning manufacturers’ core competitive edge lies in fast iteration of vehicle-specific data. They can launch matching kits for updated models such as the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, new BMW 5 Series and facelifted Porsche 718 in a timely manner, while overseas brands generally lag 6 to 12 months in product renewal cycles.
